Kendra L. Smith, PhD, is an experienced scholar-practitioner in the areas of community health and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her passion is building healthy communities. Through that passion, Dr. Smith started Smith Research & Consulting, LLC to collaborate with clients and partners interested in doing the same. She is most interested in finding methods of enhancing health, equity, and well-being through community engagement. Her areas of research interest include Black maternal health, community development, and racial equity.

Prior to starting her own consulting business, Dr. Smith served as the director of community engagement for the University of Houston College of Medicine and the associate director for community engagement and research at the Center for Population Health Sciences at Stanford University. She is also an adjunct public health professor at Pacific College teaching the Methods of Education course.

Dr. Smith earned a PhD in Community Resources & Development at Arizona State University.
