Holdwick, Aimee, DAOM, LAc

Dr. Aimee C. Holdwick, DAOM, DiplOM (NCCAOM), LAc, received both her master’s and doctoral degrees from Pacific College. She has been a faculty member here since 2010 and currently serves as the Graduate Academic Dean on the San Diego campus. She is a CNT instructor with the CCAHM and also maintains a private practice in San Diego. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Dr. Holdwick had a successful career as a computer engineer. She earned a BSE in computer engineering and a BA in English literature concurrently from the University of Michigan.

In her mid-twenties, she was involved in a motor vehicle accident as a pedestrian and sustained serious injuries requiring years of recovery. Acupuncture was pivotal to her healing process. This experience was transformative and compelled her to study acupuncture. She is directed by the desire to help others, as she was helped, to optimize their health and well-being. Having a distinctly personal experience with acupuncture, trauma, chronic pain and neurological disorders, Dr. Holdwick is invested in the advancement of integrative medicine. She is particularly interested in the role stress plays in our health. In her post-graduate doctoral program, she produced original research using acupressure as a stress management technique for nurses. Dr. Holdwick views her role at Pacific College as an opportunity to generate an exponential positive influence on our field.
